The Lake of the Woods Sailing Club was formed in 1979, when a group of sailors decided it was time to have some fun, and organized racing here at the lake. Since then the Sailing Club has grown to encompass teaching anyone how to sail: both juniors and adults), racing (both here at the lake as well as regattas across Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina (and occasionally further afield), and generally having fun.
